One to note here: you can’t have both Lync for Mac and Skype for Business on Mac clients installed side-by-side. If you use Lync for Mac, uninstall it before installing Skype for Business. Close Microsoft Lync before you begin the upgrade (Figure 4, A). Make sure your Lync window is selected, then go to the top menu bar and select ‘Lync’, scroll down the drop down menu and select ‘Quit Lync”. Open ‘Spotlight’ by pressing the ‘CMD’ and ‘SPACEBAR’ keys at the same time. Type ‘Self Service’ in the search box (Figure 5, A). Click on the ‘Self Service’ application to open (Figure 5, B). Click ‘Microsoft’ under the Categories on the right hand side of the window (Figure 6, A).

Click install under ‘Microsoft_Lync_14.3.3’ (Figure 7, A). The installation will automatically begin after the download completes.

Download and Setup To download and install Avast2015 for Mac OS X follow these steps: • • Find and double-click the downloaded.DMG file. Enter the password and installation completes. The browser extension is not required for Avast antivirus to run properly. • Drag the Avast icon into the Applications folder • On the menu bar click Go, Applications • Double-click Avast2015 and follow the installer program instructions. • Mac OS requires authorization to complete installation.

Please do not open Microsoft Lync until the installation is complete. If you run in to any issues please contact the HUIT Service Desk at 617-495-7777. Repeat step numbers one through four to ensure that you are running the new version (14.3.3) of Microsoft Lync.
